Pain care starts
with understanding.
Helping people make sense of pain, explore their options, and take a more informed role in their care.

01 / My perspective
The person.
The condition.
The whole picture.
I’m Adam Hedaya, a pain physician, the founder of Cleveland Pain Care, and the creator of The Pain Playbook.
My work brings together interventional pain care and patient education. I want people to understand the questions behind a diagnosis, the purpose of a treatment, and what progress means in their own lives.
Through clinical practice and education, I focus on making complex conversations clearer—and helping people participate in them with confidence.

A foundation for understanding
02 / Beyond the appointment
A playbook for
understanding pain.
The conversations we need don’t always fit into an office visit.
I created The Pain Playbook to give people a structured way to learn about persistent pain, make sense of treatment options, and ask more informed questions.
- Pain science, explained in plain language
- Spine, nerve, and joint conditions
- Medications, procedures, and treatment decisions
- Movement, sleep, and everyday recovery
An educational program. Individual medical care takes place with your treating clinician.
A place to begin
Better questions.
A better conversation.
You don’t need to arrive with all the answers. Choose a topic and take these questions to your next appointment.
Your next conversation / Back & neck
Make sense of the diagnosis.
- What do you think is contributing to my pain, and what is still uncertain?
- How do my imaging findings relate to my symptoms and examination?
- What would meaningful progress in my daily activities look like?
Your next conversation / Nerve pain
Understand what you’re feeling.
- What findings suggest a nerve-related problem in my case?
- Would further testing change the treatment plan?
- What changes in my symptoms should prompt me to contact your office?
Your next conversation / Joint pain
Connect the plan to your goals.
- What factors may be contributing to my joint pain and limitations?
- How do the available options fit my health, activities, and priorities?
- How will we measure whether the plan is helping me function better?
Your next conversation / Treatment decisions
Know the purpose of each step.
- What is this treatment intended to accomplish in my specific situation?
- What are the likely benefits, risks, alternatives, and costs?
- When will we reassess, and what is the next step if it does not help?
A conversation starter, not a diagnosis or a treatment recommendation.
